What Portal is
Portal is a local-first desktop business workspace with a website for account creation, billing, downloads, and support information. The installed app is intended to manage business files, project records, documents, evidence, finance records, cloud connections, and audit exports chosen by the user.
Account and billing data
Portal may collect account identifiers, email address, display name, business/workspace name, subscription tier, Stripe customer/subscription identifiers, device registration metadata, session status, trial grants, and support/admin actions needed to provide account-gated desktop access.
Local business files
Portal is designed to keep business files local unless the user chooses cloud backup, sync, export, or upload actions. The API should not be treated as the default owner of private business files. Cloud OAuth tokens must be encrypted before storage.
Desktop access checks
The desktop app may periodically contact the Portal API to verify account status, subscription state, release eligibility, and offline grace. If verification fails or the subscription is inactive, parts of the app may be locked until access is restored.
Third-party services
Portal may rely on Stripe for billing, cloud providers for user-authorized cloud storage, and transactional email providers for account messages. These providers process data according to their own policies.
Security limits
No software can guarantee that every user-managed file action, external app export, cloud provider change, or operating-system issue will be detected instantly. Portal should be used with backups and reasonable business record practices.
Contact
Privacy requests should be directed to the Portal support contact listed on the site or account dashboard once support email is configured.
